Some useful additions

We've added some useful spares and tools.
To help with fitting ours (or any same sized)  aerator or flow breaker, we have added an Aerator Installation Key - a simple tool that allows aerators to be fitted effortlessly (also good to help undo it if bunged up with limescale). It can be used on any 22 or 24mm aerator and the design prevents scratched or damage which can occur if using the wrong metal tool.
The other spare is a Tap Valve Spline Adaptor. It's a small fitting that goes on the spline of any valve with 20 splines to allow some handles to fit on  - it's only a small bit of plastic but means that some taps can be repaired if the old adaptor has worn.

New tap valves & cartidges

I can't believe I haven't posted for 2 months...Where's all the time gone?
Anyway this overdue post is an update about a couple of gaps which we've filled.
We've added a  Kerox 28mm tap cartridge -  a size that we haven't offered before aimed in particular at caravan market taps such as Reich taps and also suitable for Vado taps amongst others.
The other new item is a pair of wind down (compression) tap glands - these are the same as our existing tap valves but not the same quality, and sold only in pairs.

Flow Cartridge & Head

A gap nicely filled...our new Flow Cartridge & Head is a universal fitting replacement quarter turn flow cartridge (valve) and handle that will fit the great majority of exposed bar valves and thermostatic taps.
It's the control on the left hand side (rather than the thermostatic control on the right) which simply screws  in to replace existing broken/dripping cartridges.

I Think We're On For A Record!

It's 8.15pm and it looks like we're on for a new record - the most orders taken in a day
Of course the sterling value taken is the most important factor but a record number of orders is a great barrier to break. It's an indicator of visitor numbers and growth, both of which  Notjusttaps is seeing growing rapidly.
We're currently seeing Notjusttaps growing at an annualised rate  of 50%.
I'll either post that we hit a new record or if I don't post I'll be fed up and you'll know why!

Medical Tap For Veterinary Practices

We reckon our latest medical tap, a retractable spout medical lever tap will be especially suited to veterinary practices and veterinary hospitals.
It does 2 jobs...operates as an elbow operated medical sink tap but has the advantage of a pull out spray head that can reach approx. 1.2 metres from the tap so can be used for rinsing, cleaning and reaching areas where any normal tap can't.
I'm sure there will be uses we haven't thought of so would love to hear from customers who put it to a different use.

We've set it up as a cross between an informational and an e-commerce site where customers can purchase via Notjusttaps or Limekitchenandbathroom
With time the plan is to turn it into a separate speciality plumbing retailer with its own niche area of products to purchase.
For now the sun shines, I fancy a nice cider  and the weekend beckons!

Lab Sinks

Now on sale, courtesy of our specialist plumbing supplier Robert Lee, we now offer a small range of dedicated Lab Sinks
Available in four sizes, each is a 22mm thick fireclay sink designed for under bench mounting and are highly resistant to most acids and alkaline chemicals.
We anticipate them being required by schools, hospitals, labs and pharma companies - it would be great if someone like Glaxo decided to re-equip using our sinks.
Now that would be Christmas come early!

Adding Brands

We've always prioritised finding the right product rather than simply selling a name but on this occasion (well yesterday actually) we've expanded the traditional kitchen tap selection with the addition of Sequel Kitchen Taps by Francis Pegler and also the high end, designer Rangemaster Belfast mixer.
In particular we expect to substantially expand the products that we offer from Pegler, notably their Performa brand which we will be developing for our medical customers.

We found something useful

Going through the warehouse, we found a load of the Ocean shower valves just sitting there doing nothing.
As they say the sum of the parts is often more than the whole and as they don't have a great sales value, we've stripped them down and the best thing we found were Valquest Cartridges which we've photod and stuck up on the site
Valquest seem to fit a number of makes including Crosswater and Ultra who now own them.

Dental Splashbacks

We're gradually getting there...the aim is to keep expanding the areas of any medical room that we can service thus offering a one stop shop to complete a new handwashing/decontamination setup for any medical or dental customer.
The latest area is Dental Splashbacks, straightforward stainless steel splashbacks to be situated behind any washing area as a hygienic wipe clean surface.
They are available as standard stock sizes together with a made to measure service where we will supply any size required to order.

Sink & Tap Packs

We've added (well actually created our own) Sink & Tap Packs. They've been designed to be as flexible as possible to suit the greatest majority of purchasers.
They're complete ready to fit packs with everything needed for installing in a kitchen - the sink, tap, wastes and all fixings.
We've also prices them even better in lots of 3...ideal for trade users, landlords refurbishing their properties or developers building low cost properties to a budget.
There's only 2 to start but if it goes well we'll expand

I've been all over the place

I've been all over the place today.
I've done everything from research, adding products, checking suppliers and working on our associate website limekitchenandbathroom.co.uk.
Products added have ranged from designer non concussive taps from Shavrin through to Urban shower trays from Bathroom Origins.
And if that's not enough as it's meant to be a day off, there's a pile of new products from Hafele that I'll be working on tomorrow.

1810 Kitchen Sinks

It's a truism that you need enough choice for customers to go ahead and purchase. As we've been expanding our stainless sinks we've seen a steady increase in orders.
The latest additions (added today) are new Velore surface mounted sinks by the 1810 Company.
They're quite similar to the Crestwood sinks but it's again a case of offer enough choice and the orders will follow.

120cm Narrow Shower Curtain

We've stuck it in the oversized shower curtain category as we couldn't think where else to put it (well there isn't an undersize category) where we've added a narrow 120cm wide shower curtain made by Ridder of Germany.
It's for shower enclosures where typical users might be hotels, sports clubs or communal showers where there is the need for a curtain that simply covers the width of the enclosure rather than a normal one where the width is too great.

Kitchen Accessories

We've only been playing at kitchen accessories but hope to change this with our furniture handles and hinges page which to start won't have any hinges or handles, only cutlery trays!
There's going to be a choice supplied by LDL components including wood and plastic.
Hopefully they'll be online and on sale from beginning of May.
If we can sell a few a day, I'll be happy!

USA Delivery

We've added shower curtains to the products available for delivery to customers in  the USA.
These have been added as they can go in large envelopes or jiffy bags. The other products that we can supply are the replacement  tap valves/cartridges.

We Don't Do Advertising But...

We don't do advertising but...we have put up a banner ad linking to our sister website Ziggiziggi.com
There have been a number of approaches in the past asking for us to accept ads on our homepage which we have always declined and will probably continue to do so but for our sister website we've made an exception.
I'll be putting up posts to let you know if this has been worthwhile.
As it's replacing icons that link to Facebook and Twitter which have not done much for us I guess there's only upside to this change.

Sports Club Showers

Any sports club operator will know the problems keeping their showers working properly  - the showers get used and abused not because  members are vandals (well sometimes they can be) but because they treat the shower much harder than they would at home. This is where our new anti-vandal shower heads work.
They do what they say ie they are designed to be vandal resistant and as such will provide a great shower whilst standing up to the heavy use typically inflicted.

Pegeler Performa Taps

The new Pegler Performa+  range of healthcare and hospital taps is now available as a new speciality part of our medical category.
Pegler Yorkshire are one of the leading brassware brands in the UK being extensively specified by hospitals and health authorities.
They are part of the Aalberts group who we already work with through their sister company Standard Hidraulica of Spain.

Compact Kitchen Sinks

We've added 2 small kitchen sinks, one from Pyramis and one from Reginox.
Both being much smaller than normal (approx. 60cm width) which is nearly 40% narrower than regular kitchen sinks.
They're  both reversible, made from stainless steel, have bowl and drainer and most importantly fit in spaces where a normal sink just won't go so are ideal for anywhere from small kitchens to utility/laundry rooms.

Faucet Spares for the USA

We've just set up a special delivery service to the USA that allows us to supply faucet spares (tap valves and cartridges) to anywhere  in the USA at a shipping cost of £10.
This rate is solely for the spares, any other products will not be included and will be by individual quotation.

Hairdresser Taps

We've just added a single lever tap for hairdressing salons so although not a big range, we do now offer all the key essentials required by any professional salon for their wash basins: taps, shower sprays plus connecting hoses.
The Hairdresser Mixer Tap is engineered in Italy from chrome plated brass and comes fitted with a precision STSR ceramic disk cartridge.
Stocks will be available from beginning march 2014.

Another Record For Notjusttaps

I have to record that last Monday (3rd Feb) was yet another record day.
It's great, it's exciting but now our worry is how to keep the momentum and the growth going.

Following our visit to the Spring Fair, well introducing a number of new products from Blue Canyon (one of our nicest suppliers): Designer grab rails , White value bathroom cabinets and Suction bathroom accessories.
The picture shows their new Brompton grab rail, a surpringly stylish rust free grab rail with incredibly strong concealed wall fixings.

Notjusttaps Medical

We're continuing evolving Notjusttaps into a specialist supplier of medical sanitaryware.
Coming over the next few months are two key developments:

• Splashbacks for fitting into medical/dental furniture - stainless steel wrapped mdf splashbacks that will provide a hygienic seal between worktops and walls.
• Taps and controls from Pegler. Pegler are a brand synonomous with quality and are much in demand by specifiers & government bodies.

A New Record

Am I getting a bit blasé?
We had a record day at Notjusttaps on Monday 20th helped by some incredibly big commercial orders. Normally I'd have posted this news on the blog straight away but this time I've left it nearly a week.
Not sure if it's me getting laid back in my old age, forgetful or just too busy to remember. Whatever it is the signs are good that we'll see more records falling over the next few months.

Gold Shower Riser Rails

We do taps in gold, shower accessories, handsets and hoses but what if you wanted a riser rail in gold? We haven't had anything to offer but that's changed now that we are offering a gold traditional riser rail as a special order product.
We allow about 10 days to get this done as it's made to special order. It's not cheap but there again it's the real thing...proper gold plating, hand finished in Sheffield.

Bathroom mirrors - a bit of a negelected category

I've added a selection of the new Bathroom Origins wall mirrors to our bathroom mirror range.
In any event it's been a category that we've neglected. As suppliers have ceased trading or been discontinued, we've not replaced them and as a result the range has looked a bit lean.
So the inclusion of their mirrors is a welcome addition. Bathroom Origins are one of our favourite suppliers -  high quality, design led products that whilst not the cheapest certainly offer good value for what you get...and they're lovely people to do business with.
It's always good working with nice people!

Following my last post....

Following my last post, we've decided to extend our range of contract/budget taps and have added more products from MGM taps (we obviously rate them). The latest addition is a vertical spout style sink mixer with full swivel spout which sells for £39.50 inc VAT (£32.90 ex VAT).
This compliments their contract sink mixer which retails for only £26.50.
If you happen to see this post in a few years no doubt the prices will no longer be correct!

MGM taps

MGM taps are proving to be a really good supplier to deal with.
Fast service, helpful, efficient and they make us feel valued so it's good to expand what we're doing with them. The latest products are Luxe Shower handsets - excellent quality shower accessories made from chrome plated ABS resin that are also surprisingly good value for money.
Here's hoping they sell as well as we hope.

Foot Taps, Knee Taps & Pedal Taps

We've extended our Timer tap category with the addition of Foot and Pedal Operated Taps by Intatec.
These compliment the knee taps and spouts we already do from them and extend the possibilities available for customers from health and hygiene businesses such as food, catering and commercial kitchens operating in restaurants, canteens and care homes.
