We've researched the standards of hygiene within the tattoo industry and there's clearly room for improvement.
The most striking fact was that people getting tattooed are nine times more likely to contract hepatitis C than those who don't get tattooed.
The research took in a number of documents from best practice guidelines laid down by local councils to research by Baxter, M Rense.
The result is an article : Tattoo parlour hygiene - reducing the risk of infection that is available on line or free to copy for any interested parties.
